DENTAL IMPLANTS

What are Dental Implants?

Implants are man-made replacements for the tooth roots that have been lost; they behave and act like real roots – even bonding naturally with the jawbone. A new ceramic tooth or bridge is then fixed on top of the implants to complete the restoration. With dental implants, you no longer have to be embarrassed or worried about your teeth. In fact, new teeth can transform your smile and make you feel more confident improving your looks. Once the procedure is completed, you will have new, fully functioning teeth that are indistinguishable from your real teeth.

Why Consider Dental Implants?

  • Implants are very stable and secure so you can comfortably and confidently eat all your favourite foods.
  • Tooth loss can cause your jawbone to shrink and make you look older – implants can help by preventing this process.
  • Dental Implants are a long-term solution, often lasting for life.
  • There are many different options available for the use of dental implants. We are able to replace one, several, or all missing teeth using different techniques.

Implant Supported Bridge:

  • A durable bridge with natural-looking replacement teeth is securely positioned on dental implants.
  • Healthy adjacent teeth are left untouched.
  • Dental implants are strong, biocompatible fixtures made of titanium, that act just like natural tooth roots.
  • Implant supported bridges can be used to replace anywhere from two to all missing teeth in the mouth!

A variety of modern dental implant-based tooth replacement solutions are available. Any of these solutions can dramatically improve your quality of life; such as enabling proper chewing and speaking, increasing comfort and self confidence, and encouraging the consumption of a wider variety of foods. Ask our dentist for the solution that is right for you.

Full-arch Restorations

  • Full-arch restorations provide stability where new teeth are attached to two or more dental implants, making this a very cost-effective option.

Mini Dental Implants

If you have dentures, do you experience any of the following?

  • Are you unable to eat what you like?
  • Does food get trapped under your dentures?
  • Do your dentures shift, tilt and move?
  • Are you afraid to smile?

With Mini Dental Implants, you can put these uncomfortable difficulties of dentures behind you.

What is a Mini Dental Implant?

A Mini Dental Implant (MDI) is comprised of two-components: an ultra-small 1.8mm titanium alloy implant screw that acts like the root of a natural tooth, and a retaining fixture that is built into the base of your denture.

The head of the implant screw is shaped like a ball, and the retaining fixture, which contains a rubber O-ring, acts like a socket. The O-ring snaps over the ball when the denture is seated and holds the denture at a pre-determined level of force.

The denture rests gently on the gum tissue.

MDIs enable a very good option for patients who are unable to withstand conventional implant surgery, or they don’t have enough bone available. Here at M Dental we can offer you permanent stability for your dentures and alleviate any concerns associated with denture wear.
